Millstone Trailblazers - dedicated to trail preservation and construction | ||
In an effort to combat the rural and urban sprawl that was destroying the trails that citizens of Millstone had enjoyed for generations, a group of concerned citizens formed the Millstone Trailblazers, a non-profit 501 C3 charitable NJ organization, whose projects are primarily funded through donations, fundraisers and grant awards.
The Trailblazers fostered a trail system within Millstone Township, by working with local, county and state governments to establish and identify individual trails for an interconnecting trail system, to be used for walking, jogging, bicycling, horseback riding and non motorized recreational purposes. Our goals include: developing a long-term strategic plan for individual trails and interconnecting trail systems; educating the public and township government about the practices of other communities as it relates to recreational trails; and, identifying and helping establish existing and future township Open Space Properties as links to trails within and beyond Millstone. Preserving and constructing a network of multi-use recreational trails, which connect the our local, county and state owned parks located in Millstone Township. Upon request our members act as consultants regarding the trail system, maintain and mark trails.
We meet the third Thursday of the month at the lounge at Bright Meadows Farm on Prodelin Way, just off Rt 33. If you need more info, just send us an e-mail at info@millstonetrailblazers.org.
